About The Information Advice and Support Services Staff Association (IASS-SA)

Every Local Authority must have an IAS service. These services are joined together in nine regional networks. To find out which IASS is in each region go to the “The Regions” tab.

What are the regional networks?

Every IAS service can be part of a regional network. Usually the regional networks will have a group of IASS managers, one from each IAS service who meet three or four times a year. The regional networks have differing numbers of services but they all have a similar purpose. They work together to improve practice, provide peer support, organise training and work towards having a consistency in quality and service offer across services. They consider the needs of staff across all strands of service delivery.

What is the IASS-SA?

Every staff member is part of a service that is joined into a regional network. Together the nine regional networks are the culmination of IAS services across England. The staff association is the drawing together of all the staff and services as one whole.  We actively encourage meeting together in order to share and support wellbeing.

What is the IASS-SA Steering Group?

Every regional network will nominate a representative to be part of the IASS-SA Steering Group. We meet three or four times a year to draw together the experiences of the regional networks. Our aims are like the regional networks to improve practice, provide peer support and consider the needs of staff. We share ideas for regional training and events and look for common themes in staff experience and training needs that can be fed into national development. Our one big task is to organise a National Conference biannually.

If you would like to find out more contact your regional representative.
